2017 has been a very great year for me. Not great as in money-falling-from-the-sky or somebody-has-paid-for-this-at-the-shop-counter kinda great but I have had a few ‘starts’ this year and that for me has been great. Ideas come easily to me. I can’t say exactly why though. Planning it out too isn’t much of a big deal until it’s time to actually START. Fear from the hottest part of hell grips me tightly and the same person who had it all planned out starts dishing out reasons why my ideas won’t work, like a fine meal.

I know I’m  not alone in this struggle. You, my dear reader, have a lot in your head, beautiful journal or in a notepad on your smart devices, wonderful ideas waiting for expression. All is set but you just can’t start.  Fear and all of its first and second cousins won’t let you be great. I am in a position to tell you, “there will never be a convenient time”. I know it sounds cliche but it holds eternal truth.

You may want to see the whole picture before you start but life won’t present you with such luxury. Start! And things will fall into place one step at a time. A whole lot of interesting experiences await you so why let life pass you by? Whether it is writing (books/songs), starting a business, taking on a job, going back to school, getting into a relationship, volunteering, creating a blog like me, or carving a niche for yourself, START!

A child of God has no business with the fear of failure. I’ve been a victim for years until I fought back and hard. So to your question, “what if I fail? here’s my reply, “what if you succeed?” Remember the journey of a thousand miles begins with a step. I leave you with;

“You can dance in the storm. Don’t wait for the rain to be over because it might take too long. You can do it now. Wherever you are, right now, you can start, right now; this very moment.”
